ICAN Triathlon Mallorca solidarity with the children

Triathlon ICAN is working with UNICEF to support their work in defending and promoting the rights of the  children to play and to do sports

Triathlon and UNICEF ICAN Balearic Committee have signed a collaboration for  two years. The organization of the sports event is committed to pursue a social policy with  the values of UNICEF, in addition to donating a 5% of all the inscriptions  received in the events organized in Spain.

UNICEF recognizes the essential role of sports and physical activity in the childhood, and has always played a key role in their daily work. It is the base of many programs of education in values and for the peace, apart from being a tool in recuperating psychosocialy children that have been victims of abuse, violence or exploitation,

Sports, more than a practice is a means and a goal to obtain the development of peace. The opportunity to participate and enjoy sports is a fundamental right of all the children, recognized in the art. 31 of the Convention on Children´s rights. The parties participating recognize the rights of the child to rest and to have fun, with games and with the proper activities of their age and to freely participate in the cultural and arts life ,recuperating psychosocially boys and girls that  are  victims of violence, abuse and exploitation
