Thanks to the Mixed Society of Tourism and to Valladolid Town Hall, who offers all their means and experiences to ICAN. The Castilian capital will feature some of the best international triathlete and again will be a national sport reference.
ICAN Triathlon continues its unstoppable growth. After consolidating Marbella race, with a successful Second Edition on the month of April – there will be more than 1.000 participants- and guarantee in the future the international event of Majorca-Paguera during the next four years, ICAN responsible has closed a new scenario.
Moreover, it will be a different race; it will have the difficulty of swimming in the Pisuerga River, a flat and technical circuit by the immensity of the Castilian Plateau and a foot race through the centre of Valladolid, enjoying some of the most emblematic buildings.
ICAN Valladolid 2012 will have a new schedule. Instead of starting during the morning hours like in Marbella or Palma, Castilian appointment will start around 15:30pm – half an hour later will do it ICAN 52 – taking advantage of daylight hours offered by the summer. The start and the finish will be located in the impressive “Millennium Dome”, one of the reference buildings of the capital and which could already be seen in the Expo of Zaragoza.
The cycling race will take place by the Castilian tableland, in a circuit of go and return until the town of Villabañez, always by secondary roads to ensure the safety of triathletes and the enjoyment of crossing vineyards of some of the most famous wineries and wines known worldwide as Ribera del Duero.
ICAN Valladolid 2012 will have the honour to complete the race on foot in a circuit around the centre of the capital, reaching such emblematic buildings such as St. Paul’s Church, Pimentel Palace, Las Angustias Church, Plaza Mayor or the City Council, ending up in the “Millennium Dome”. We want to take advantage of the project implemented by the Municipal consistory, called “River of light”, and that it has led to Valladolid to be named as the “best lit city in the world”.
Triathletes and their companions, who will come to the Castilian race next summer, will enjoy the superb gastronomy of Valladolid, in addition to the cultural value of its monuments. Modernity and history together in which it was the capital of the Kingdom and that will guarantee an unforgettable weekend to those who won’t lose this appointment.
